What is Past Perfect Continuouse Tense?

Past Perfect Continuous Tense Definition: অতীত কালে কোন একটি কাজ হওয়ার পূর্বে আর একটি কাজ হচ্ছিল বুঝালে বা এরুপ ভাব প্রকাশ করলে Verb-এর Past Perfect Continuous Tense হয়। Structure: Subject + had been + verb + ing + object + before + Subject + past form of pricipal verb + Extension.

1st Person: 1. I had been eating rice before he came. 2. We had been reading the newspaper before they came. 2nd Person: 1. You had been watching TV before we ate rice. 2. You had been sleeping before he came home. 3rd Person: 1. He/She/Rahim had been danching before they finished their duty. 2. They had been palying in the field before the rain came. Translation: রহিম তিন ঘন্টা যাবৎ মাঠে খেলা করছিল।– Rahim had been playing in the field for three hours. সে এক সপ্তাহ যাবৎ জ্বরে ভুগছিল।– He had been suffering form fever for a week. আমি তিন বৎসর যাবৎ এই গ্রামে বাস করছিলাম।– I had been living in this village for three years. জামাল সাত বৎসর যাবৎ একই গ্রামে বাস করছিল।– Jamal had been living in the same village for seven years. তুমি তিন ঘন্ট যাবৎ বইটি পাড়ছিলে।– You had been reading the book for three hours. আব্দুল্লাহর পিতা সাত বৎসর যাবৎ শিক্ষক হিসেবে চাকরি করছিলেন।– Abdullah’s father had been working as a teacher for seven years. আমরা এক ঘন্টা যাবৎ দৌড়াচ্ছিলাম।– We had been running for an hour. শিশুটি দুই ঘন্টা যাবৎ ঘুড়ি উড়াচ্ছিল।– The child had been flying a kite for two hours. বালিকাটি ৪ ঘন্টা যাবৎ ঘুমাচ্ছিল।–The girl had been sleeping for four hours.
